Industrial automation uses various control devices like PLC's/DCS to have control on various operations of an industry without significant intervention from humans and to provide automatic control performance. It provides an industrial environment for control and automation. The process parameters can be controlled and automated using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control System (DCS).Interfacing and monitoring the automated process is done through Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Industrial Automation Lab helps the students to gain knowledge in real world experience of Industrial automation.
The aim is to establish this laboratory for practical training in the field of analytical instrumentation like flaw detection in the metallic pieces using ultrasonic flaw detector, sample analysis using gas chromatograph, flame photometer, atomic absorption spectro-photometer.
Control Engineering Laboratory takes care of teaching at the graduate level in basics of control and instrumentation, modeling, simulation, and optimization, intelligent methods, applications in various processes.
This laboratory is equipped with process simulation kit with electronic logic controllers, relay logic controllers, level and temperature control with PID controller, electronic transmitter and PLC (programmable logic controller) trainer kit to carry out advanced experiments
Industrial Instrumentation lab is basically concerned with the calibration of various sensing devices and measurement of various non-electrical parameters such as temperature, torque, viscosity, PH and conductivity.
This laboratory was established to make students aware about basic fundamentals of practical process control. Various control viz. closed dc loop control, cascade control, ratio control, PLC control are simulated/practically implemented to give student a better understanding.
Transducer & Measurements Laboratory is equipped with modern measurement instrumentation equipment’s, which helps the students to study different mechanism of measurement of Temperature, pressure, density, humidity, displacement, force, speed, torque, stress etc.
This laboratory is to impart the basic knowledge of various fundamentals of Electrical Engineering.
